Take a two day journey into the depths of photography with Adrian C. Murray. Learn how to see, work with and even manipulate natural light to help you produce your final image. Discover the secrets to landing perfect exposure even in the harshest of light. Finally, take your images from good to spectacular using nothing but Lightroom. 


Itinerary 

Day 1

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM : Coffee and Lecture

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM : Lunch

1:00 – 3:00 PM : Indoor Location Shoot

3:00 – 4:00 : Break

4:00 – 6:00 : Outdoor Location Shoot

 

The first day is about getting from concept to RAW image. The lecture will cover conceptualization of your image, the the foundations of using natural light, as well as storytelling through composition.

Day 2

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM : Coffee and Edits in Lightroom – Group study

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM : Individual Edits with Questions

 

The entire second day is centered around post processing. We will work together to edit the images we shot the day before giving you the polished product. Images do not take long to edit therefore we will be covering the edit of at least five images together. The final hour you will have a chance to edit some of your images on your own while I answer questions.

Requirements

Each participant should have the following equipment with them for both days:

  • DSLR/Mirrorless camera
  • Lens(es)
  • Laptop with Adobe Lightroom 4.0+ installed

The technical understanding for each person will be varied and accounted for with the lecture. You do not need to be a professional or have any formal education in photography for this workshop. However, a general understanding of the following are highly recommended in order to get the most out of your experience:

  • a general understanding of the exposure triangle
  • what ISO, aperture and shutter speed are and how they can alter an image
  • A basic understanding of Lightroom (you can read my introduction to the developer tabs in my blog or even purchase the editing videos before hand to get fully caught up)

Reservations / Costs

[Registrations are currently closed] The total cost of workshops are $1,000 USD. Your reservation includes a non-refundable charge of $500 which goes towards the total of the workshop and the remaining $500 is due at least 30 days prior to the workshop. Many people fly in from all over to attend these workshops so keep in mind the cost for travel and lodging. As these workshops are held on weekends the traffic is very light. Right now our future workshops are unavailable as we are having a baby soon and moving across the country this summer. Future workshops will be announced through the newsletter
